½largewhite onion(sliced, and seasoned with ¼ tsp. Greek seasoning)
3standardpitas
lettuce(optional)
Tzatziki Sauce
1mediumcucumber
1½cupGreek yogurt
2tbsp.minced garlic
2tsp.fresh, chopped dill
¼tsp.white pepper
1pinchsalt(optional, to taste)
Instructions
In a medium sized bowl, mix together your steak, oil, and Greek seasoning.
Line your air fryer with aluminum foil. This will keep all the yummy juice and seasonings together! Add in your seasoned steak. Cook at 380 degrees for 8-10 minutes depending on how well you done want your steak.
While this is cooking, prepare your sauce. Peel, and then cut your cucumber in half, long wise. With a spoon, remove all of the seeds from the inside. Dice your cucumber into small pieces.
Transfer to a food processor or blender. Blend until you have a puree. Transfer to a dish towel or cheese cloth. Squeeze out all of the moisture as much as possible. Set aside.
In a medium sized bowl, add in all of your sauce ingredients, including the cucumber, but not the salt.
Mix well. Add in a small amount of salt until you reach your preferred saltiness.
Once your steak is done, you can assemble your gyro. You can roll it up or cut the pita in half and stuff your gyro. Add in lettuce first, steak to lay on the lettuce, and your seasoned onion sliced.
Serve with chips, fries, or a salad! Enjoy!
